We were in #Bourg-en-Bresse visiting the monastery Princess Margaret of Austria built. She had a tough life. When she was two her mother died. Then her father promised her to a future king and she went to live in Amboise to become trained for her new role. She was only 8 but became great friends with her fiancé... until he broke it off with her to marry a different princess. She was very upset but her father found her another king and they got married. Unfortunately, he died. She found another one, Philibert the Handsome but he died unexpectedly in his early twenties. The monastery was for his tomb and she was going to live in her own apartments next door but she died before the project was finished. She was buried in a tomb next to Philibert.Day 12. #Buxy...as I rounded a bend and could see a long straight path ahead of me. The thought came to me, “gosh that's a long road”. A moment later, “I shouldn't go too far.”. Then, “I wonder how long I've been walking?” I checked my phone... ten minutes. No way! I thought I'd been walking for at least 35 minutes, maybe even 45... but no. #France #motorhomelife #keepgoingArchives
